Green over Tan, superb exposed alloy bonnet, nickel plated radiator, side-mounted spares and an auxiliary light mounted on the windscreen, full tonneau cover and an Auster rear screen.
This Three-Litre Tourer is Matching numbers, Original frame, Exception Provenance, Mutliple concour award winner, Documented in Green’s “Fifty Years of the Marque”, Correct in every way with original open bodywork by one of the premier English coachbuilders, Gurney Nutting.
The ownership history is believed to be as follows:
• Mr. John McMeeking of Southampton, England, original owner;
• 1940’s-1956, Captain Ivan Finchow of Lygarth, Dorset;
• Imported to the USA in 1956 by Neil McDade of Chattanooga, Tennessee;
• Soon after, this car became a part of the famed collection of Bernie Goldflies of Dayton, Ohio;
• Richard Fisher acquired the Three-Litre in 1962.
In 1968, George Evenson of Washington State purchased the Bentley and it remained in his care for approximately 25 years, during which time it was driven, shown and cherished. Throughout his ownership, the Bentley was kept in heated garages and his enthusiastic use saw the car earn prizes and participate in a number of tours and rallies. Included with the car are Mr. Evensons’ service records, parts purchases, correspondence, Bentley manuals, literature and other documents and records regarding the history of this marvelous Three-Litre.
This Bentley still wears its UK registration, CR 9914. An auxiliary engine fan has been installed to peace on mind in around town traffic. A testament to its capabilities, this Bentley has recently completed a lengthy tour throughout Central and Northern California.
This early W.O. Bentley, with its lovely, original Gurney Nutting coachwork, matching-numbers engine and original frame, is an extremely rare find and an excellent example of England’s quintessential open tourer.
